Bill to control Crisis Pregnancy Centers introduced in Congress
Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) has reintroduced legislation that would give the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) the authority to protect women from anti-choice "crisis pregnancy centers" (CPCs) that use deceptive advertising practices. Investigations have shown that CPC use false advertising to dissuade women from exercising their right to choose while posing as abortion and counseling centers. The Stop Deceptive Advertising for Women's Services Act will allow the FTC to penalize organizations that engage in these practices. Many CPCs are advertised in online and print phonebooks, such as Yellow Pages, under abortion services. Source: NARAL Pro-Choice America) Read the Full Article HERE
